Who runs The Bacon Review?

The Bacon Review is founded and edited by Eric Westerlind and Jason Barry. Both have published writing in a variety of genres (from fiction and poetry to philosophy and travel) and are committed to the preservation and dissemination of excellent literature. All editorial decisions are agreed to by the both editors; if a consensus is not reached on the publication of a particular piece, it will not be accepted.

How should I submit my manuscript?

Click right here or at the top of the page. We use Submittable’s services in order to streamline both our efforts and yours.

When will I hear back from the editors on my submission?

We try to respond to submissions within one month of receiving it. Sometimes our response can be slower, so please be patient! If you haven’t heard from us after one month, feel free to write a reminder note. We make an effort to respond to every submission.

What rights do you obtain upon publishing my piece?

How often are issues published?

The Bacon Review is published every month.

I’d like to reprint some of your material in a book, or display it on my website. Do I have the permission to do this?

It depends. Are you the author of the material? If so, please consult our Terms and Conditions section. If you are not the author, please contact the editors to arrange permissions for the right to print or post the material. If your work is originally published at The Bacon Review, and is later published in print or online, we request that you provide acknowledgement to TBR.

Do you consider book reviews?

If you are interested in writing a review of a book, please send us a query first. If you are interested in us writing a review of yours, feel free to do the same.

How is The Bacon Review Supported?

All financial support goes toward the costs of running The Bacon Review including site maintenance fees and advertising. Neither of us is paid. Any cost overruns are funded out-of-pocket.
